Fine European Instruments, Individually Made
Sofia violins, violas and cellos are made by expert luthiers in Europe and United States through Eaton Consort International, LLC.
The hallmark of the Sofia workshop is its finely crafted violins, violas and cellos. Each day, master luthier Todd Matus directs the crafting and finishing tasks within the workshop walls. Sofia violins are crafted from the finest European tone woods and finished with our unique varnish applications.
The Sofia Violin Shop is located within the Stutz Building in Indianapolis, the home of the Stutz Bearcat and other fine Stutz models decades ago. It’s now filled with highly-skilled artists and craftspeople.
The powerful combination of European and American workmanship relies exclusively on the superior tonewoods sourced in Bosnia, Germany and Romania. We invite you to experience the superior performance qualities of Sofia violins.
A short film about Todd Matus, our shop luthier at Sofia Violins. Todd is a photographer as well as a very fine violin maker. He has a curious life of pursuing violin making as his vocation and photography as his art. Enjoy.
